Chain splitting

Hello,

Is there a way that i can split a chain without buying a specific tool?

    Buy a chain splitter. They are cheap and an essential piece of kit to put in your pocket.

    In a work shop if you can get the chain on a hard flat surface put a small nut under the link you wish to remove then using a punch the same size or smaller than the pin knock out the link out with a hammer. Hope that makes sence.

    Once you have split your chain and it's the right length use one of the "quick links" from KMC. SRAM or Connex.
