I haven't experienced Cycling TV but maybe its a technology issue. I have a fast laptop and ADSL2+ broadband which should be more than capable of dealing with this. When I have twice tried to view Champions league football from the UEFA site via the internet, the pictures have frozen and I lost connection, etc... Maybe viewing across the internet has a long way to go before it becomes a roobust and consistent medium for live streaming sports video.

PS there are some technical FAQS on their site that might be of use to folk who experience problems: http://cycling.tv/about/faq/problems-viewing

Just had a look on the FAQ and noticed this:

Can I watch on my TV?Cycling.tv is mainly watched via PC but this is simply because that device is where most Media Players are located. There is nothing to stop user connecting Cycling.tv to their TVs, Plasmas, Projectors or other devices.

Soon users will be able to access Cycling.tv straight to their TV sets via major TV platforms in various territories.

I like the sound of that, as it is definitely the way for them to go. Anyone heard anything on this?

Hell I'd pay GOOD MONEY to get their feeds onto my telly. Cool. I hope the UK is one such territory.

If its being accessed via the internet I don't think anything will change - if it will be via the Sky platform on a subscription basis, completely different kettle of fish. Quality and picture consistency will be good (or so you'd like to think)

Id like to see one channel dedicated to cycling, take it away from Eurosport I say. Granted they have done a fantastic job for cycling the last few years but its coverage is always compromised by other programs over running their schedule and the coverage is always interrupted with adverts.
I read recently that Setanta are struggling for subscribers, I reckon that if they signed up the rights to all the cycling and had a proper channel, like they do with golf (I don't know if this is any good though), then they would be sorted, Id sign up right away.

Yep so would i but i dont believe the market is there for a cycling channel in the UK. Other than folks in your cycling club etc how many people do you know watch cycling on TV other than the TDF. Nobody that i know out of a couple of hundred at my work are remotely interested in cycling as a spectacle but i know of loads that watch football and golf.

    UPDATE

Finally got my subs refunded, it would appear that the only way to get their attention is by lifting the phone.

It's no wonder they have problems with the site when they've still not grasped the concept of email
