bianchi nears completion
ive had this bike for a while, infact i used it for much of the latter part of last year, even taking it to the alpujarras for a fortnight... it's only been mine though for about a month. the guy who i'd been borrowing it off, lent me it on a 'see if i liked it, if it fits' kind of extended test run, and i really liked it and had to have it.
it was fairly standard when i took ownership of it, and was all a bit worn and not to well looked after, with notchy campag vento wheels, ownbrand and cheapest itm finishing kit and a garish looking saddle and falling to bits green handlebar tape... i felt it needed a birthday, so over the last few weeks i've stripped it and rebuilt it, upgrading as i've gone.
i think it's lovely
it's now got record/open pro wheels (recommended as good allrounders on here) with conti 4seasons for the time being
fsa shiney bits, and carbon seatpost
fizik pave ti saddle
oh, and it's been regripped black
the original veloce drivetrain is all sound, and just needed a bit of fettling to get it back to it's best... all that's needed now is a campag cassette tool (on order at my lbs) so i can put the cassette onto my new wheels
it's my first attempt at any road bike maintenance, coming from mtbs
i can't wait to take it out for a spin
i hope you like it, i just thought i'd share

as i say, i've not taken it out for a spin yet, all the fine tuning and setup can be done when it's on the road... i'm very excited and looking forward to it0
