I have a cheap-ish mini pump which i'm using at the moment but feel that i'm not getting the correct pressures in my tires.

So thinking about buying a more substantial pump so can any one throw any recommendations my way.

Oh helpful if it doesn't cost the earth as well.

get a floor standing pump and pump your tyres up before you ride to desired pressure, something like a Joe Blow approx £20-30
  • always get a floor standing pump for at home, but always carry a mini with you whilst riding.

you can get 35 - 40 PSI out of them so you will be fine on a trail.
  • Blackburn pumps are excellent quality, however with any pump you are better using a seperate digital pressure guage to accurately measure your tyre pressures as the ones on floor pumps aren't that accurate.

Bit of an overkill unless your a racer

Decathalon do a nice floor pump, I got an alloy one with pressure gauge that does either type of valve for £15 :D
  • how is £10 for a digital pressure guage an overkill? Pressures can make a hell of a difference to your bikes feel so I would say it was £10 well spent.
