A frame sizing question

Hi Folks
I'm 6'4" tall, so when buying a bike I'd automatically look for the largest frame. I have a Claud Butler hybrid, which is 21" as thats the largest size that CB did at the time.
Am looking at one of the Giant CRS bikes, largest being 23", so I'd aim for that one. Now to be fair, the CB does not feel small. However, how much commonality is there in sizing across bike manufacturers ?
I know you'll say go to the LBS and try one, however Giant dealers are thin on the ground round here, and I suspect they'll stock the sizes that sell best (not 23").
So, any tall Giant CRS riders out there ? Any thoughts ?
