I'm looking to replace the pads in my juicy 7s, I am currently running stock pads, i am happy with the feel but a little put out by the noise they make,

I have tried Superstar pads but been a bit disappointed with there performance, the feel was perfect but the the pad life wasn't great.

I was just wondering what after market pads people had tried and would recommend for this brake, i have a very mixed riding style, i guess this is called "all mountain"

I am looking for a pad with:

1) good life spad,
2) good 'bite'
3) not too much squeal

i have an ebc gold pair on the back and a some swiss stop pads on the front.

ebc ones in my experience last for ages but are a tad noisy only when wet. the swiss stop ones are mega, last for ages and even quite quiet in the wet. i was given the swiss stops when i bought the bike, as a spare set, i didnt realise how expensive they were until i saw them in a recent review.

not sure if they are worth more than the ebc ones and if im honest, when it comes to replacement time, i will be buying more ebc gold pads.

  • I got some sintered EBC pads Once my originals had worn out I got some sintered EBC pads and they didn't even last one ride which was 15 miles. Could hav been a faulty batch i guess but the material just crumbled away. Now on Aztec experts and man they are 10 times better over the originals, they are real quiet and brilliant modulation

I bought some juicy 5 pads (fibrax Sintered) from thevwmark on ebay and they didn't fit. It seemed pad material was too wide anyone else had this problem.

you do need to push the pistons back into the calipers first.

theres no law that says u have to change both pads at the same time, if the old pad has abit of material left just change one pad then when the new pad is worn in the other new pad will fit alot easier
