marazocchi mx pro eta question

Ive noticed that these fellas from last year are pretty cheap at the moment, and the reviws seem to be pretty good. Im in the market for some new forks, running manitou axel elite 80mm nonsense at the moment and want at least 100 to 130mm forks that work, rather than the manitou pogo stick. Ive a couple of questions though, does any one know what the crown to axel length in mm is of the mx pro eta, the reviewers keep saying that even the 100mm version is 'long', also they say it is heavy, anyone know how heavy? as crc dont list weight or overall length of these forks.
Thanx in advance.
Also is this fork really as good as it sounds for the price? Basically Im want a 100mm+ fork for under 200 quid that actually soaks up the bumps. Cheers

what sort of riding do you do?
what bike?0 -
Xc riding, blaring around the hills like I dont know better. I ride a canyon, hardtail, I was told that as long as the forks are under 490mm overall length I should be fine, Im worried that the mx pro eta may be a bit leggy as lots of reviews say it is a 'long' 100mm fork, making it all up as i go along0

IIRC, at 100mm the crown to axle length is 488mm. Weights are on zocchi website - dont forget to add the steerer weight.

cheers chaps, 488 is a little longer than standard 100mm forks IIRC, should do the jobmaking it all up as i go along0

It wont do the weight of your bike any favours - heavier than the Axel and over a pound heavier than a Reba0

Seriously! I couldnt find the weight on the link, but heavier than the axels! I didnt think that was possible, Ive gone all euro out here in france, any idea what the kilos would be? As a back up I was concidering the magura odor at the same price on crc, a 2 kilo fork, but coil sprung rather than air. Am I right to think coils give a less sensitive ride? I prefer the look of the maguras, but dont know much about themmaking it all up as i go along0

Zocchi list the 07 MX PRO ETA at 2100g - not sure if this is with sterer, which is another 174g
RS Reba Race is 1610g! Is also stiffer and more adjustable, but dont get the reduced travel ETA (but do get lockout and lowspeed compression adjust, lockout adjust and dual air spring)0 -
True, but the reba race is well over twice the price, I'd go there, or fox if I had the nuggets!making it all up as i go along0
-
Thats unlucky, reba race is £200 here, marzocchi mx pro eta about £1700

Where is the reba race 200quid?making it all up as i go along0
