Teocali best choice?

My little brother just phoned me after visiting an Evans store. He has been looking to spend in the region of £1,000 on a full sus bike now for a little while, but now needs to decide (mainly because I want my Cannondale hardtail back!).
The guy at Evans led him towards an 07 Mongoose Teocali Elite for a shade under £1,000. I showed him the recent article with the Giant Trance coming in top the other day, but I'm no expert!
Any advice / thoughts?

Trance is a 4in travel XC bike.
Teocali is at least 5in (or is it 6in?) travel, freeridey bike.
They're quite different, but I've heard good things about both of them.0 -
Thats a cracking price for the teocali, it's kinda like a GT I-Drive, but different :?0
