Hi peeps,

I'm looking at riding the South Downs over 2 days. Obviously need a decent sized camelbak or equivelent to get ALL my gear in. I was looking at the Camelbak HOSS but at £87-£110 it seems a touch expensive considering I won't need that much space very often.
Of course, having said that, if it is by far the best, then I'll have to start buying the missus flowers every other day, then slip "hu-hmm, £110 rucksack :? " into the conversation.

Cheers

Use a hiking rucksack and just slip a bladder in it?
  • I'm in the same boat as I'll be looking to some some long weekends this season and do some camping on the hill.

I was thinking about checking Millets out for a half decent walkers pack which could work for MTB'ing
  • Skip the flowers, they are expensive! instead buy a bag, and promise the missus a bag of chips and a little go on yer bike!

If you can get to Decathalon in Lakeside, they have a good selection of camelbak/other brands for pretty good prices, I got a Rockrider one (their own brand) for £25, 2.5L bladder, and can carry about 3l of other stuff.

You will probably need a bigger one, but they had other sized ones as well, they did Camelbak as well.

The larger Tescos stores do them for a tenner!!

  • yeah, find a Tesco extra, they do some good products for walking, I'm sure you could adapt one to your cycling need. Otherwise, find an outdoor shop or website that Stock Gelert kit, awesome value for money and a good range of Camelbak-style packs.
