I have decided to shell out on some biking kit...

Bought myself the Marin Team jersey and shorts (note: not in pink Andrew156  )

But what I am after is a decent pair of baggy shorts that will not only be used for XC but also freeriding etc to wear over my cycling shorts - plus I cant bring myself to go 100% lycra...

Have a budget of about £50 and need something 'combat like' that has a few pockets (for slices of cake of course)

  • Impressed with the Hope shorts and also Endura Humvee Shorts. The Endura's are a long short and cover your knees.
Reckon the Hope's are what your after.

    Humvee's get my vote
  • The Humvees seem to be very popular......

I was looking at some Royal racing shorts but would have to sacrifice pocket space (however I always have a camelback that can fit a fair bit in)

The Hope ones look great but forgot to add I was after black shorts as my jersey is quite... 'loud' shall we say
  • Some of the Fox baggies are in the Evans sale.Think they had the Epics reduced to around £50.
    2006 Giant XTC
    2010 Giant Defy Advanced
    2016 Boardman Pro 29er
    2016 Pinnacle Lithium 4
    2017 Canondale Supersix Evo

endura singletracks..a bit warm in the summer...but don't fall apart as quick as other endura stuff.

as pointed our evans have fox stuff half price..and I got some sergants which are okayish especially if you have your own under shorts..but the fox stuffs not that good in my view, apart from maybe the epics.but certainly won't pay full price.
  • I quite like the seargents - quite a casual short which I would wear off the bike as well..... :D

they're pretty light and yeah you can wear them off the bike...one issue i have with them is they have a adjustment belt onthe inside at the back, so the velcro can rub against your back on a ride..which is pretty annoying.
  • I was looking at humvee's last night.

Ordered some nice girlie kona ones though.

  • Surprised no one has mentioned Gore shorts, they are the bees knees and wear and last very well too, mine are comfy as anything one year old and look brand new their pad is uber comfy too.
