Can anyone tell me whether the geometry of a Mongoose Tyax will take 120mm Manitou Black Elites?

You can check it yourself.

Measure the crown-to-axle distance of your existing forks.

If your Black Elites are the 120mm travel models they will be 500mm crown-to-axle.

If the difference between the two is 20mm or more the answer is no. If it's less, you should be OK.
