How to measure stem length

Bit of a silly question, but how do you measure the length of a stem?

Doesn't it say the length anywhere on the stem itself?

I was going to change the stem on my scale. the stem on it didnt show the length or the angle, had to do a bit of mesuring and take wild guesses!!
