as long as its the same fitting for the bottom bracket (should be, don't think anyone uses square taper on road bikes but i could be wrong)

go with the same crank length that is on your bike unless you were wanting to change the crank length.

It will fit your bike but you will probably have to change the bottom bracket too. I can't find what type of bottom bracket your current chainset uses but it is unlikely to be ISIS drive. If you can take a couple of pictures of the L/H crank arm I should be able to tell you.

Size is a different matter. It is influenced by leg length but really it's just down to what you're comfortable using. I'm 5'10" with a 32.5" inside leg and I use 172.5mm cranks on my bikes. I have also used 170mm and I can't tell the difference (I average over 1000 miles a month so would expect to be able to notice if it mattered).

As alreadmentioned you may also need a new bottom bracket, but the biggest concern may be the gearing. If you have a compact 50/36 as the Bianchi website, the jump to 53/39 will give you harder gearing for climbing (but depends how much climbing you do, and how good at it your are)
Carlsberg don't make cycle clothing, but if they did it would probably still not be as good as Assos

Blimey, same question for me, only I have the Veloce 10 speed version of the C2C bike. So 53/39 is good for me.

Surely Bianchi aren't going to make a crankset that isn't compatible with a Campagnolo group set?
Anyway I'm now frantically running off to check my crank length.

BTW what the hell is 'ISIS drive' and 'square taper', you lot talk crazy talk you do!!!!!!!!!!!!!.

All chainsets are compatible with all manufacturer's groupsets. The only exceptions to this are chainsets with thicker chainrings (track, older 7/8 speed etc.). All you need to worry about is the chainset/Bottom Bracket fitting (this is the ISIS/Square taper that people are referring to). If you have a campagnolo chainset at the moment, you will definately need to change the Bottom Bracket. Campagnolo have never made ISIS fitment chainsets.

Begs the question why are you getting a new chainset? If you want to notice improved performance then this isn't the way to do it. Surprised no one has asked yet

I think it is quite nice that for once people are actually answering the question that was asked. It's rare on here as usually people will ignore the original question and tell the poster that they shouldn't do whatever they are asking for help with.

Cos it's my birthday on Monday & Wifey has started to get frantic about 'one last present'.
Who can resist a bit of birthday bling, esp when it's got £300 off.

Very bling for the price. Why not.....

3 main types of bottom bracket - square taper - i.e. the axel is square at the ends and is the oldest design, the newer ISIS - a sort of serrated end on the axel, and the newer 'external bearing ones'.

Bottom bracket's aren't too expensive - but you may need to add in the extra for the correct tools.

    And there is a problem.
I really want to do the change over myself, but I've not undertaken such a job for a fair few years, and certainly not on a bike I love, possible a little too much!!!!.

So on the 1 hand I want to be man and machine in perfect harmony, but as I said to my LBS man today, 'if you next see me with puffy eyes and blowing snot bubbles, it ain't gonna be pretty'.

All this on the back of saying, on thursday, to a mountain bike colleague:- 'no I reallly researched my bike well, so I don't/won't have to change bits on it'.

Nothing wrong with extra bling though........

    wooooooohhhhhhhhh, and once again woooooooooohhhhhhhhh.

My birthday bling has arrived, first the thank you's:-

Gem for pointing me in the right direction.
gb cycles for putting up with Wifey's blithering questions last thing on a Saturday night.
    And then despatching them Monday.
Royal Mail (I would wouldn't I) for getting them to me today.

As for the crank set, blimey that doesn't half look the buisness. I don't think I would care if it made me slower!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
As Wifey said 'I've brought you so much stuff, over the years, and the only thing to make you completely light up, is a bloody crank set'.

All I've got to do now is get the Veloce off, as the guide in the 'workshop' section doesn't look like it will help, though thanks to the guide, putting the new on will be easy.

Oh what the hell, thrice woooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhh
