Could you pls help me with my choice of cassette.
I was going to buy the Shimano LX Cassette 9 Sp M580 from Chainreactions, but I read
a comment from someone saying that they had the Shimano Ultegra Cassette 9 Sp 6500
fitted to their MTB.

Now the largest ring is 27T which is fine on the Ultegra for me.

The price is pretty much the same but the weight difference is over 200g.

So I would like to know if the Shimano Ultegra Cassette 9 Sp 6500 which is supposed
to be for road bikes would be a better choice for me than the LX cassette.

Will I really notice the difference of 200g on the rear of my MTB.

Thanks for you comments

Paul

well you will lose a lot of the Low gears and your gear range will be a lot closer.

Why do you want a Road cassette?

and this person who had one what did they use the bike for? was it XC?
