First Fixed Conversion!

Well, for first for a few years - and it all seems to have come together quite neatly! And worryingly easily! Remove some bits, re-space the rear axle, redish the wheel and job done! Rode it with gears on Sunday and seemed comfy enough to convert it. Now I wonder if I can remember this no freewheeling thing....

Like the garage, glad I am not the only one without an operating theatre style work space. I did a similar fixed conversion a few months ago, don’t worry it will 'remind' you to keep pedalling.0

I'd recommend fitting clips. I had to ride my latest aquisition with flat pedals and no clips. It was scary. You'll really notice the difference.0

Actually that's the conservatory - garage full of m'cycles!
I did use toe clips for some years up until I stopped riding fixed about 18 mths ago. But for a while before that (and when I first fixed in about 1962 -67) I used just pedals. Did so this a.m. - don't find it a problem. ld.j.
