The 07 Lyric 2-Step does not work in the long run. Now and again there is a fork that does, but those are exceptions. The only two "fast travel adjustment" forks that are pretty much guaranteed to work are the 36 Talas and the Magura Wotan. RS claims that the 2-Step problem is fixed with the 08 Lyrics, but i wouldn't rely on that.

well MBUK have had my Mythic Wildcard with a 2008 Lyric 2-step on for some months now on test, should get it back soon and interested to see if they had any problems with the fork....

in the 2 weeks I had it before it went to test, certaintly no problems with the 2-step despite lots of airtime and some hucks...

  • I've got a Meta 5.5 with 36 Talas RC2s and would definitely recommend that set up. They can be easily dropped for steep climbs when necessary but I find they're not too high for general trail work anyway. Get some! You won't regret it.
  • I've just ordered a pair of Talas 36's, can't wait to get em. Bear in mind that the 07 36's don't have the quick release so you need an allen key to remove the front wheel.

I've heard Lyrics are awesome when they work...

Well got my Orange 5AM and boy are these forks FAB

To test them out i went to Kings Oak pub in Epping Forest and went to that
rough carved up hill with loads of high exposed roots

Boy point this beast into the rough and flew over everything i
    pointed them at!!!

Going up just flick lever down to 100 and make your way back up and do
    it all over again Styly

And LOL watched the guys with there 100mm small travel doing it
    humming bird style

What would make these fab forks 100% will be to put a lock out on them and would make these a heavy but dam good XC All mountain fork.

Buy them you cant go wrong

I just went down the hill back up and down the hill and back up

What you waiting for get to the shop nowwwwwwwww
