Fraid I'm a billy-no-mates on the road bike Harry,
I'm out on the MTB every Saturday with my mates, but I fit my road rides in whenever I can.

I need to get my finger out as I've booked 6 sportives so far this year.
    Why do you ask??

    Poucher
  • Middlesbrough here (Marton to be precise). I'll have a pop over to the site.

  • Tynemouth here.

My riding mate is in Gosforth, and there's a couple of other lads in Chester le Street and Morpeth. Our Sunday ride is usually 70-80 miles or so through to Derwent and Stanhope, with plenty of hill climbing thrown in.

Only been out the one time in 2008 though. Struggling to get people together and my ride fitness is suffering :(

Would be good to know if there's anybody nearby who's reasonable quick, say around 18mph average.

Poucher, I ask cos I'm doing five Sportives this year in preparation for a week riding in the Alps in August. I often ride round Stokesley area and wouldn't mind some training partners to give me an incentive to get up the hills

A bit further South in Thirsk but the North York Moors is my usual riding area. If you see a lone figure in Yellow on an old steel hack on or around Boltby or Hawnby banks then it is a good chance it's me

    Harry B,

I'll drop you a PM next time I'm out on the road bike and perhaps we can hook up and sort a route out for a few hours?

    Cheers,

    Poucher
  • Slightly further north of Thirsk in Northallerton - seem to end up Richmond,Craythorne area. One thing for sure you are guarantied to see some one out for a ride on their bikes any day of the week. Lovely area great rides. :D

Pop over to www.mtbnortheast.ning.com then, similar site to Denny's NERoadRiders but for MTB.

  • Darlington!
  • Stokesley......ish

    Good new site to watch out for road rides being organised in this area seems to be;

    http://www.mtbe.co.uk/road-bike-discussion-f15.html

I think it's just new, and they are trying to get a local road network up and running.
