I've just bought a pair of Shimano Carbon race shoes, from a charity shop :) . They fit well and seam OK BUT. How do you walk in them ? there are two grooves on the sole about 5mm from the edge, should there be something in there to raise the waling hight so you are not walking on the cleat?

I have two pairs of road shoes and they are not made for walking. The cleat/pedals I use are Shimano SPD SL's, the cleats have rubber bits you can kind of walk on but not for long.

lol, wait until you come across some nice slippery tiles (think supermarket entrance) and see how you do then!!!! The best thing to do is to try and walk as little as possible in them. I once had to do a 3 miles walk home, it was not fun!!

Still a lot better to walk in than Look.
  • Depending on what sort of cleats are on them, you can buy cleat covers. Still doesn't make it any easier but it protects the cleats .
