A full field of 100 starts this early season classic TT, first man off at 8am. The race HQ
is Queenswood School, Shepherds Way, Brookmans Park, Herts. Entries include Julian
Ramsbottom, Richard Prebble & Matt Bottril.
Best place to watch is the final hill into Essendon, towards the finish, you can almost
hear the grinding of teeth. Hope the weather is kind

Dont forget the young man who wont be there, second last year IIRC,the late Peter Bissell

Fifth was correct place for Pierre Bisto, a name change in homage to his great feats in France last year.

Well the weather behaved itself this year.

Top finishers probably went pretty much according to the form book:
1 Julian Ramsbottom DeRosa RT 00:42:55
    2 Richard Prebble GS Strada 00:44:06 V
    3 Chris Birch East Street Cycles.com 00:44:13
4 Matthew Bottrill DeRosa RT 00:44:15
5 Wouter Sybrandy Sigma Sport 00:44:22

And a fantastic ride by 16-year-old Emma Trott to be the fastest woman in 23rd place with a 49-26. A great prospect for the future I think.
  • One major problem, course had to be shortened to 18 miles due to THREE, YES THREE
sets of roadworks, one lot appeared on Friday night!!, which ment that Carbone &
Darnacle Hill's were missed out completely, the Newgate Street part of the course was
not part of this years route.

You can tell it's coming up to the end of the financial year, most of Sth Herts is
covered in Bl***y roadworks, never any other time of the year.
