I have them and to be honest they have been great.
The only trouble I had was when I changed rims to centerlock and had to buy rotor adapters.
One of the best brakes I have used - and generally fit and forget.0 -
would the 203mms fit on my bike?

I wouldnt.
Firstly, 203mm rotors would be overkill unless on a DH bike.
Secondly, the Avid Carbons are not significantly lighter (18g's) than the avid 7's, but more expensive due to the carbon lever. You will probably pick up more in weight of mud going through a puddle!
I have Avid 7's on my Trek, which are great brakes, but if you want light weight, power and reasonable cost go for Formula k24's. For "Trail" riding maybe 180mm rotor on front 160 on rear, but for most xc 160mm front and rear.
Another reason I am not keen on big rotors beside the weight is that I've found they rub more than smaller discs. Streako

i was thinking of buying the 203s because they were cheaper than all of the other sizes, and the carbons were cheaper than t the 7s.
what good brakes could i get for about £170 for a pair?0 -
If they are cheaper than the 7's then that would be a good buy. I notive that a regular set of Carbons is 199 squid.
They may be selling off the 203's cheap to get rid of them.
Looking at the deals I would stump up 225 and get the Ultimates. They are much lighter and very bling. Streako

But they scored less than the carbons in the test - mind you for values sake £225 (OE price) is a lot less than the RRP isn't it?0
