Firstly, is it safe to use front racks for panniers if you have a carbon fork and eyelets only for mudguards?

Secondly, any recommendations of products?

My feeling is that it might not be a good idea though I have no evidence. I also suspect the U-bolt fittings supplied with Blackburn front racks (all I'm familiar with) might not be the right shape for carbon forks.

sounds expensive - ie. I will have to get a new set of forks

If you're going to buy new forks then it might be worth getting front pannier bosses brazed on at the same time. Perhaps your LBS has an old , but sound, frame with a pair of decent forks. A respray would be necessary if you have braze-ons and you want it to match your frame.

    Just a thought.
