Hi

I am looking to buy one of the above bikes and am looking to find the cheapest place for them online.

Any guidance would be appreciated.

I have found the XT for £1709 and the 5.5.2 for £1600 so far.

  • How about getting from LBS (or not so L) that can offer a free service or discount on riding clothes/upgrades etc etc?

I have an '08 Meta 5.5.2 and am extremely pleased with it. (Have upgraded to XT, DT Swiss rims and Pikes)

Yeah merlin often do 10% or similar. Proably won't find that much in terms of offeres as its still early in the 08 bike season, like the above you might do better at a LBS and get some free stuff thrown in.

I would go the LBS route if you can but failing that my local dealer JD Cycles of Ilkley (where I got my 5.5.1) do mail order and may well give you a fair bit off if you are nice to them. Alternatively they can build a a frame up to your spec with a discount on the parts which may give you exactly what you want.
