I'm in the process of picking one of these for my bike and I've come across 2 that I fancy they are:

E13 Supercharger in Sea Foam Green  18545.jpg

Race Face Bash  878.jpg

My pedal are the same colour as the E13, but the Raceface one being metal kinda draws me...............

What would you do :?:

  • e.13 my gf has a clear one on her bike, looks brilliant, more than strong enough. Also fatter so less likely to jam in something. I have a metal one (filed down steel chainring) and it works fine too.

Either will work fine - I managed to break my e13 so put an alloy DMR one one - works great.

e13 is good....though not in sea foam colour..though if you must. then somewheres doing them cheap (might be CRC..hunt around)
  • I am thinking of getting a bash guard aswell,
may i ask how easy they are to fit (do i have to remove anything from my bike, like the cranks)?
  • iv got the raceface one. its good, light and strong. e.13 tend to get better write ups.

It all depends on what size bash guard you have, some will only cover a middle china rings, and to fit this you have to remove the outter big chain ring, which is what i've done.

Although I have changed my middle from 32T to 36T to get a bigger range of gears.

What did you do regarding chainring bolts?

Are the stock ones that held the big front ring on long enough to secure this @ the other rings? Of course assuming you had a big chainring in the first place
  • Steve - Did we chat a while back about the blackspire ring protector? The one that does work with 3 rings? I remember you send some pics and it looked v good.

You'll need longer bolts, these should be supplied with the bashring.
  • i just used the ones i had and they were long enough.
