beginner in carlisle

hello to all in the forum1 i'm currently living in carlisle,cumbria, and in process of buying my first bike( giant yukon) i know i'm blessed with lots of good rides( mabie forest,lake district) which aren't too far away,but i'm a bit lacking in some xc buddies who could show me the ropes,does anyone know of a local club in carlisle? can't seam to find one or even anyone who wants to take a novie out.cheers

    Hi,

    We ride throughtout the Lakes although mostly South Lakes, you're welcome to come along on any rides but might want to check that the distance is okay with your fitness first. See forum below,

    Keswick Mountain Bikes (KMB) do regular rides from the Lakeland Peddlar in keswick, I'm sure they would welcome you.

    Lastly theres a group of guys on the Bikemagic forum called Hobostyle but they are pretty hardcore so you might want to get a bit more experinced first.

    Good luck and prepare to be addicted and spend all your money on bike bits!
