I ride a 07 Meta 5.1 fitted with a fox float 32rl. The meta wants to ride hard and fast and often it does however on stoney rocky steep trails the fork just does not seem to be up to the potiential as the rest of the bike. Any suggestions? Thanks

could try going for a Pike. but would need a new hub.0

Any particular Pike model you would recommend?0

The Air is lighter, but more tunable to your weight, while the heavier coil is plusher (and adjustable in travel). You can get a Uturn air too, bet less range.
The 426 gets an external floodgate adjuster (lock up blow off valve) while the 454 has a a lighter hollow crown and steerer.0 -

i would look to getting your current fork fettled by TF.

how long have you had the bike?"Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

Thanks for the info think I will be looking at springs this time for a more compliant ride just checked out the 454 coil, looks like it may be just the job. Expecially as you can dial in less height/sus for going up hills which is not the meta favorate hobby.0

Yes nicklouse that another possibility having it fettled. I have had the bike nearly a year.0

The main reason I suggested the Pike was that its a stiffer fork - good for harder riding as you suggested. How does the Float feel at 140mm?0

I am no expert and have little experience with shocks. But I just get the feeling that no matter how i set up the air pressure or the controls it never feels quite right. It is if it cannot handle rough terrain fast enough. does this make sense?0
