LX R-Mech + Shifter or X.5 + Shifter

I mangled my deore rear mech today in which the barrel adjuster snapped off, the low adjuster screw bent, plus a few other things. So i now need to replace it, i was actually planning to replace the mech plus the shifter as they are worn any ways. I will be going for ether the Shimano LX rear derailleur M581 + LX Shifter pod 9sp M580 or SRAM X.5 rear derailleur 9sp + SRAM X.5 trigger shifter 9sp but im undecided so i would like to know some pro's and con's of each. Part of me is being swayed for the sram items as the mech won't clang on the frame(so i have read) like my deore did and the sram has a more direct cable run. But what else or what would you go for and why ?
I have a deore cassette and sram chain at the mo but they are going to get replaced a bit later.

id say that lx is several "levels" above X.5... maybe if it was X7 thered be more of a contest.

LX: x5 seems plasticky to me.0

the only thing SRAM i would put on the bike would be a chain, i think they are well overpriced for what they are.0
