Bought an old Raleigh 10 speeder this p.m. Bit of a clean. Air in tyres. V-brake blocks in the centre pulls. Seems to work Take it on CTC "D" Team ride tomorrow.

Well, it says Made in Nottingham on it, so it should behave....

And it LOOKS very nice!

Enjoy your ride - and give my regards to Reg :) I'm stuck indoors with a 'chest' though I did a gentle 3 miles on foot just to taste the air.

Are the centre-pulls calliper type? I've used them in the past and never been very impressed. Perhaps the modern blocks will help.

Thanks - yes a nice ride - sunny and still if very chilly! Reg led with his usual route finding abilities!

I've always found old Weinmann c/ps perfectly adequate if set up patiently and yes V blocks a big improvement.

Bike rode fine, but I could do with lower gearing than the 52/42 front and 5 speed rear allows!
