Im hoping to do the London to Paris bike ride in September in aid of The Stroke Association. I have read various write ups on the ride but they all seem to use the London - Dover route. Has anyone any experience with a London-Paris and in particularly via Portsmouth?

I did it last year for Rethink and this year for Mind, both mental health charities. If I raise more than £2000 I will be doing it dressed as a fairy  .

  • Does the Stroke Association ride use Portsmouth?
I would have thought that it just makes sense to go from London to Dover rather than going across country to Portsmouth and then having to travel from Normandy to Paris.

    Can we fix it?
    Yes we can!

They say it is a more cycle friendly route with most of the route on quiet country lanes. It finishes with a 100 mile stretch into Paris on the last day which appeals to me.
