you'd need an i-beam post.
but why are you upgrading? surely the stuff you have works, if you want to tart up a bit then buy thomson stuff from aspire velotech (free postage FTW)0 -
I have a Raceface Deus stem and a Thomson Elite seatpost on my XTC.
Liked the idea of the SDG I beam post,in terms of strength, lightweight, ease of adjustment, but that means you are restricted to SDG saddles, and without conventional rails the i beam system has less flex, which may not be a good thing ,for comfort,on an already very stiff frame.2006 Giant XTC

I have same bike, i changed to a thompson elite stem and seat post.
Seat post is brilliant as it doesn't slip and stem is 0 degree which has meant better riding position for me (my preference), also changed handlebar to race face dues xc!
Your bike doesn't really need it changed but it does make small differend to weight, the seat post is miles better and it defo looks great!
Nothing wrong with tarting your bike up! which model xtc is it?Carbon is a mans best freind0 -
You could get the SMICA stem and seatpost which are both lighter and significantly cheaper than Thomson.0
