Which Wheels

I'm currently in the process of converting a quite specialistly tuned dirt jump bike from my younger days into something that i can use more freely for more diciplines.
The first stage of this is new forks, i have been offered some 07 rock shox argyles, which appeal to me and i was looking for a 20mm axle anyway after bending QR forks previously.
This however will require new wheels, its been suggested to me to get hold of some mavic 721's but i wondered if anybody had any suggestions for alternatives or comments about the 721's
I have no problem with building my own wheels if anybody has any custom set ups that arent going to break the bank

Proven hard hitting rim, at a decent weight. Can go heavier and wider, like the 729.0

I've used Mavic 729's in the past and they feel indestructable, you could even ride them without tyres (joke) but at about 650g they are heavy. there will always be a trade off between strength and weight it just depends what is more important.0

well i am used to riding with combats, so i would imagine that they wouldnt seem all that heavy to me!?0

i'd stay with 721, they are strong enough for all but the hardest square edge hits and worst landings in rock gardens.0
