Spesh's Pitch Pro or Cannondale's Prophet 2

So, I have been looking for a 150mm trail rig, and looked at these two as the ones I would have to choose between. Then the latest MBUK landed on my doormat and if you look at this issues test, there is little to tell them apart, same weight, similar spec, same price, same MBUK rating in each of the areas (spec, value, climbing... etc). MBUK give the Prophet the Winner and I like its looks more, but I like Spesh's adjustable pike fork!

What to do! Which one? Help, I have got to spend the money before the girlfriend realizes I have got it

I've got a Pitch Comp and it's superb, no issues with quailty, ride, and reliabilty.

Id find a shop and test ride them both. What works for some people may not work for you.
They are both nice bikes though. :D
Eagles may fly high but Weasels dont get sucked into jet engines.

You can at least rest assured that both are far from stinkers and you've got the tough choice of picking the better of two very lovely bikes.

I've always fancied a 'dale mind  Almost got one this time but the Orange won me over...

I love my Pitch PRO, i have made some upgrades and the bike is so nice to ride!

MBUK rated the Pitch 9/10 as they thought the U-Turn on the fork was very stiff! Well mine was stiff so i removed the cap, bearings and detent springs and greased them up....its works very smooth now and its so easy to adjust the fork!

People say the Pitch is ugly, but after seeing the Prophet...jesus that is fugly!

Take a look at my Pitch in my sig
  • i would go for the prophet 2 as the frame quality is simply amazing and i doubt you will miss the u-turn that much
my parents made me what i am today ... i'm thinking of suing

Try the Orange 5 a purfect 10 in most magazines Just bought the 5 AM
model with Fox Talas 160mm front travel.

Just may have to change the cranks as there free ride type

Just waiting for it to land at the bick shop.

Test as many has you can its amazing how different your ride can be
    on each bike.
You.ll soon know what bike is right just hated it when the most expensive
    felt bang on!!

The Orange is so light and easy to move around and fast.

Well good luck and happy riding
  • Looked at both of these myself, and using the 'super wuper high tech scientific method' of choosing the one that looks nicer,I rejected the Pitch due to the er,lovely poo brown colour :?

A bit naughty to reject a bike on colour I know, but it's a lot of money and I want to be happy with what I buy in every way.
MBUK said they're both nice to ride, but the 'Dale edged it because of the air fork...strange really as they normally say they prefer the plushness of a coil so maybe it was just nit picking because both bikes are so damn nice to ride :?:

The Cannondale's still in the running for me..

neither, test an edison. the review said its negative point was its weight, it weighs the same as the other 2 bikes and is much more versatile, until you have tried the adjustable geometry you dont know what you are missing.

i knew before opening the pages that the cannondale would win.
