My 'new' hero!

I saw a reference to a 'Tommy Godwin' the other week in Cycling Weekly and remembered seeing an article about him in a very old Cycling Jubille edition mag (1891-1941) that my old Dad had given me. The article in that mag is about 3 lines with a picture of Tommy being congratulated on his 'achievement' - talk about understated!
Anyhow, I did a bit of digging and came across this excellent little article about him.
For all those who've embarked on the various Metric Century a Month challenges posted here, or finished a 100 mile ride and 'felt a bit sore' the next day, take a look at this and marvel...

Do you think he was married ? ;-)
Cheeers... Allan.

I thought for a moment you were talking about this Tommy Godwin who is very much alive and well and giving after dinner speeches at the ripe age of 87. I collected a medal and a kiss from him last Saturday. Strange that there should be two famous cyclists called Tommy Godwin.
