Those wheels look like amazingly good value

Seems to be a fairly reputable brand, though I suspect they're older models
http://www.rigida.com/#
And pretty lightweight

disc compatible?
sounds ideal for my commuter/pub bike i'm building! thanks!

http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-5791.aspx
is there any significant difference between those two?
basically both 9spd disc compatible wheels?
you cannot be serious, collect from a shop, i can't collect from the local tesco extra (fairly big shop) nor form any in cheltenham or gloucester or swindon? those aren't exactly small villages are they. dunno if i'll get them now.
might get merlins cheapest handbuilt set at about 80 (£41 and £35) sounds like a better deal actually0 -

The Deore hubs on the more expensive pair get pretty bad reviews

It could be, but I just bagged 2 of them for £89 each from Halfords.
This looks good value though: http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.200-9471.aspxFelt F70 05 (Turbo)
Marin Palisades Trail 91 and 06
Scott CR1 SL 12
Cannondale Synapse Adventure 15 & 16 Di2

Just bought the pair of Rigida wheels so I can finally upgrade my rear brakes to discs, probably sell the front on ebay.
Just a bit worried what hubs are on the wheels, guess I will find out tomorrow. If the hubs are bad, I'll just ebay the pair, probably make a profit :twisted:0 -
Which ones did you go for out of the 2 sets??Felt F70 05 (Turbo)

The cheaper set are the Rigida wheels, the more expensive are Mach 10 -
Note on the wheels - good value! But the Rigida rims are very heavy, these are no lightweight wheelsets. The 475 hubs work well - just keep them maintained.
ALso take a look at this:
At the bottom:

Slightly better hub, good rims (but heavy!)0 -
Would it be unwise to buy a bike from tesco?0
-
Yes, Unless you are mechanically minded. They have no support in the store, so hardly any backup or facilties. Like buying one from Argos.
What sort of budget do you have, and for what riding?0 -
im after a sort of dirt jump bike.. but i need gears for getting around. I should be able to save up about £350.0
-
Some decent budget rigs for that price, best bet is to have a look around the local shops. Couple that spring to mind are the GT Tempest and Saracen Instinct.0
-
thanks. Ive been having a look at the GT chucker and giant STP on the web. I'm thinking of getting a GT chucker 3.0 or giant STP 2 for £250 then upgrading them a bit.0

Not happy
I'd ordered the Rigida "Wheelset" and just picked them up from my local tesco only to discover that
a) there's only one wheel in the box - the rear
b) the one that is there is unbranded
I just weighed it as well and it came in at 1330 grams
Info on the web said the rear rim was 690 grams
It has a Grimeca hub. Looking about I see cheapo hubs come in at about 250 grams so say the rim plus hub = 940 grams
That means the spokes account for about 390 grams???
Seems way to heavy.
Back to the shop for a refund...0 -
Thats extremely light for a hub - looking at 4-500g for a grimeca rear hub. There should be two wheels though. You are not going to geta lightweight wheelset for that money, the rims are very heavy.0
-
Not happy with the Rigida wheelset either...
Got a refund straight away and reordered the ones with shimano hubs. Hope they are better.0
