:D I swim on Tuesdays and Thursdays and thought I'd try cycling to Staines, swimming and cycling home.

I thought I'd be utterly exhausted but it was fine. Journey there was at the tail end of rush hour so a little bit fraught, but heading home, tunes on, surprisingly comfy on the drops just mooching along at an easy 18mph...fantastic.

It will be bliss in the summer!

how the hell do you swim and cycle home? Do you live on an island?

(PS: I love cycling but the bikes are a little temperamental at the moment. We're not talking much...)

It's just a hill. Get over it.

Maybe he means he does part of his journey by swimming along the Thames (dragging his bike along behind him I guess)?

Nothing as complicated as that I'm afraid - there is a comma missing between swimming, and cycling.

I cycled to the pool. Although, it would be an interesting twist on a triathlon if you had to do it all with your bike on your back......hmmmm......

Surely if you tie lead weights to the frame you could cycle on the bottom? Attach flippers to your arms and you're swimming too.

    It's EXTREMELY practical.

And maybe even avoid the congestion charge if you did it up the thames?
