I'd rather avoid a shop link and I don't like Ricci (had poor service many times) - it would just be for commercial interests and I think they have already overdone it at Bissoe.
Had two great rides yesterday - one around Frogpool while my wife rode the horse (horses are slow downhill but rather quick uphill and on the flat!) then another straight after with my wife setting off from Bissoe and larking around in the mines. Managed to a couple of big drops that I've bottled out of before.
Loving all this dry weather. 8)0 -
Not keen myself on Bike Chain, service is pants! and prices unbelievable, to charge more than the RRP for goods is imoral, especially £20 more for a £50 item!!!
I'd rather be independant.0 -
Muddybum - glad I'm not the only one who thinks that then!0

ok...thought I would ask...0

sundays ride is for everyone
gentle crosscountry
plenty of shortcuts home if you need
the leaders pace will be set by the slowest rider , if your a racer please encourage the slower riders by riding with them .0 -
weather on Sunday dry and mild
lets see everyone, even if its a bit easy , just think of all the new people you'll meet. so far Ive been very impressed ,I think this forum breeds a better class of rider.

I will be there! the wife is dropping me in a little earlier as she has to be back in 'Druth for 10! But i shall be there living up to my screen name some more with any luck!;) although i may look a little like 'all the gear no idea meets Billy no mates' hahaha!
i think tying in with ricki/bikechain isnt so clever but a discount for club peeps might be nice! (although normally if ricki's on i get a silly amount of anyways!! - used to clean his cars for him!) that way you can also use a few other bike places like clive mitchell etc.Timmo.

Nice one Timmo
Ill be there at 0930
been down Ricci's cafe today, I like the changes . Ive always found ricci very friendly , he is a salesman & a businessman but he is friendly with it .
We don't need connections or ties to anyone we have this forum.0 -
sounds good!! i didnt know about the cafe down there! mind you thats not suprising as i havent ridden down that way yet! sounds good! saw ricki today as was in bikechain! as said, i have never had issues with him at all, but i can see how it would be easy to take him the wrong way as such!
should be about half 9 i am hurled out the car so will be nice to have someone else there!!
i might quiz you about clipless pedals!!!Timmo.

if you have spd shoes ( 2screw holes in bottom) I can lend you some for the ride. let me know
I like your avatar .is it carbon :?:
everyone , 10.00 o'clock is late morning ,so I am starting when the cathedral bell rings .
If your late catch up in Idless woods0 -
oooh, thank you very much but as yet i havent the pedals (may do this afternoon though!;) ) but have been advised to go for it! so just need advise and to see how easy they are to get in and out of etc! my shoes do have the bits in the bottom! hence why i thought i might give it a go soon! (mucho practice in the garden i think!!)
yes the avatar is carbon! its some of the carbon weave i have in the shed, if you saw my bike on the first ride you may have seen the additional wrap of carbon i have put on the down tube to prevent frame chipping?? anyways, its some left overs i have had from a few projects a few years ago!!Timmo.

timmo ,i have pedals and cleats you can use tomorrow.
you will only fall off when you stop
buy shimano spd pedals and ask for multi directional release cleats. the only way these stay clipped in is when your foot is flat on the pedal. Rip your foot in any direction and they release . very handy in the beginning.
buy the cheapest they will last.
they are the only way to ride . You get to use all muscle groups and before you know you will be riding to the start in truro.0 -
haha1 yeah did think how nice it would be to be able to ride in and do the ride and ride back!!! one day hey!
i got some crank brothers egg beater candy sl's this afternoon so have fitted them and practiced with them in the garden and put a couple of notes on my bars saying 'Un Clip'!!
have set them loose too so will have to see how i go tomorow now!! really looking forward to it! also trial fitted the bike rack on the wife's car too so dont have to worry so much in the morning!!
dedicated to living up to my name!!;)Timmo.
