i ride trousers as i like them, you should ride what you like.

only have good things to say about endura trousers, single tracks are medium-thick and warm on these colds days and humvees are lighter for the warm days and both are well made and durable. make sure the chainring leg is'nt flapping around as the big chainring will destroy any flappy trouser so use the velcro or a bashguard.
  • I swore i would never wear tight's, but i got so fed up of having freezing cold legs that i got some Cannondale bib tights, and i love them. They are so comfortable that it feels like your'r nacid below the waist  Admitadly every time i have ridden with others i have wore shorts over them, but when i am out on my own i just wear the tights. But then i have lost so much weight over the last year that for the first time i actually like the look of my own arse, so you could call me a bit of a show-off
I have tried other trousers and i cant stand riding in baggies, pluss they create extra wind resistance which slows you down.

    Andy.
  • I have both, and though they make me look like Max Wall,I have to say tights are more comfortable.Fortunately where I ride, not many people get to see me.

Even better if you ride at night.........

  • Tights with baggies over the top. Tights dry out very quickly and keep you warm. You could also try just leg warmer type tights if you get too warm.

Tights with baggies over the top. Keeps your legs and knees nice and warm in the cooler weather and they dry out very quickly if get wet. I use DHB, good price and always get great reviews.

Tights on longer rides (well actually 3/4's) for comfort, trousers with padded short underneath on shorter rides or messing about locally, especially if a pub stop is likely!

Ronhill Bikesters with padded shorts underneath (egDHB Earlney are good value for money)

The Bikesters aren't skin tight. So don't give the full-on lycra look - if you're worried about that. And the pro version of the bikesters are a bit water repellent and a little fleecy inside.

Tights as long as you can...erm...fill 'em :o
  • I personally always wear baggies but if i was in your position i would chose trouser. i'd never be seen dead in tights. you just got to be careful that your bike chain doesn't eat your trousers
