road wheels on a budget
i'm after a new set of do it all wheels around the £200/250 mark, and would like a little guidance
would you say i was better getting a set built, or is a factory set going to give me better value for money?
so far i'm liking ribbles build of campag record hubs, double butted spokes and open pro rims
i don't race, but would like them to be fast, strong and reliable, and easy to repair if needs be
thanks, and please be gentle, i'm new here

Welcome Bippa
Fro £220 you can get a great set of handbuilts that will cover fast training, sportives etc.
I went for Harry Rowlands handbuilts and he is a fan of Ambrosio and recommended them based on my planned usage and weight.
At that price point you could probably get the classic handbuilds which are Mavic Open Pros on Ultegra hubs which are a good do it all wheel unless you are a very fast time trialler (in which case you might want to go aero Mavic CXPs instead).0 -
If you want budget wheels, 60 quid buys you a pair of Quest Comos, sexy and black and everything. Not light wheels of course, but nice with the right light frame and they roll nicely.0

thanks for the replies so far
the wheels are to go on my bianchi sl (not sure of the year as i got it second hand), which has a campag veloce group hence my choice of a campag hub0 -
Open Pro on Veloce, Chorus or Record would be great. Remember to factor in the cost of the sprocket - seem to remember that capag ones cost a small fortune.
I've no idea what Ribble are like as wheel builders, Harry Rowlands is great and I'm sure others will be along to recommend their wheel builders.0
