Cycling to work this morning, turning right at a mini-roundabout at about 10mph when suddenly my wheels are disappearing sideways uncontrollably.
Many thanks to the kind driver behind who stopped to check on my welfare and let me use his mirror to check my facial injuries.
A torrent of abuse to the moron who spilled oil/diesel on the roundabout.

Managed to make it to work then off to A&E to discover that I've got a suspected fractured thumb. No cycling for weeks. Have to get the tube with the rest of the proles.

One question: Why is it that when we realise we're going down, our first instinct is to protect the bike at all costs? Apart from scuffed bar tape, I managed to cushion the fall of my 3rd best bike (£56 Ebay special) with my face and my wrist.

    MIB claim for your injuries?

You are the victim of an untraced driver

There has been a recent case which cionfirmed this ( that case involved a motor cyclist.

The untraced driver scheme does not allow you to recover comp for your property damage 0- but does cover personal injuries.

Get form from the MIB website- you do not need solicitors to make such a claim

Done the parafin fall thing but no major damage to me or the bike. Ground the alu cap on the end of the skewer and scuffed the shoes but the starange thing is I ripped the outer shell of the Karimor Kalihari jacket, inner shell was intact but my elbow wasn't, a small 1/4" graze with a scar that remains to this day.
I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.
