Was supposed to meet some pals tonight for a drink/food but decided against it....... too tired after work to socialise.. or so I thought
So, having a couple of drinks indoors with some tunes on and wish I was out... sod's law

Still haven't got over the 'bike tart thing' yet0
-
You may be interested to know I've caved in and am just about to order a M970 chainset (just to match the rest of my kit)0
-
Yay! I shall more than likely giving Annie Anthem the first ride at the weekend! All hoses cut, she is trimmed, tight and ready for action!0
-
Oh and the only bike related purchase I've made recently is
http://www.wiggle.co.uk/ProductDetail.a ... Sunglasses
Which although make me look like an idiot no doubt (unlike the pink jersey) should be quite useful as motivation to get some fitness work in!0 -
Not bad for £39.99 is it?
he he - I remember the thread about that pink jersey.
I couldn't believe so much fuss was made about it you know :?0 -
Nor me. Whats the problem with fat guy in a pink jersey?
Oh and i got them for £37.99 with being a gold member Fair bit cheaper than the oakleys at £160!0 -
Yep - me too!
Elite status in Wiggleland
Got any new pics of the build Andrew?0 -
Possibly tomorrow!0
-
BTW Andrew - those Continental RaceKing UCI's are feckin fast - and they are a 2.2
EXTREMELY - and I have to over-emphasise that word fast-rolling.
Very thin though so they are on the Marin (which has brake issues at the moment) so they will only get very light XC use
I recommend them a lot!0 -
I was tempted. Get paid tomorrow so will look into it.
I'm on explorer supersonics at the moment and have been eyeing up the Speed King supersonics.
Road bike is getting a lot of attention at the moment which is worrying if youve seen how much those things can cost! :roll:0 -
I can imagine - in a month or so I can find out if I can get the 'dale from evans
Works out £30 a month taken out of wages so I won't miss it.
I know NOTHING about road bikes - only that I want a flat bar
How are you getting on with yours? Whats the ride like?0 -
They reckon they are a contender for 'tyre of the year' in a lot of mags - it's that not enough testing has been done on them but on paper they look spot on..
I just have to see how long they last is all... :?0 -
Well it has been restricted to the commuting run thus far which is only 5 miles each way so hasn't been given too good a blast.
I guess since i'm still getting used to the riding position its a bit weird but not too bad. Time wise my commute is about the same but thats against my XTC with flyweight tires which goes like stink on the roads anyway
I can see it becoming a valuble asset for getting some extra miles in though and i have been tempted to stick a flat bar on it and give it a go but will stay true roadie for now. (I even picked up some bib shorts for £1 the other day!)0 -
Aldis?0
-
Nope Halfords.0
-
From the bargain bin? Or have you been 'price swapping' again0
-
Hahah nah these were bargain bin jobbies!0
-
Hey guys,
Thought I would see if you were still about.
What plans do you have for the weekend with your bikes then? Putting a bit of work in for one of the builds Cheesey?0 -
I will be hopefully getting a few miles in on the road bike and anthem. Hardtail is a bit redundant at the moment until i get new forks for the anthem.0
-
Yep. Sure thing
Stripping my Avid Carbons down and giving them a thorough clean/service as I have been having trouble with them lately....
Thats my mechanics done for the weekend then will probably go out on it (if I manage to get them working) for a nice few hours if the weather's nice
How about yourself? Anything on the agenda?0 -
Just made some plans tonight.... My orienteering club meet on a Wednesday each week for training & several have MTB's as well.
One guy has done adventure racing in the past & we were both entered in a MTB Trailquest in the Pentlands last weekend. Plan is to go to Glentress after an orienteering event this Sunday. Could be interesting climbing those hills with jelly legs!!
He may also be our third team member to enter the Edinburgh Rat Race this year!0 -
Blimey - sounds an excellent weekend you have planned there!
You've made me feel lazy now0 -
Once you've finished tinkering with the bike builds there will be no stopping you I would think. Only problem I can see you having is the time it will take to decide which bike to take out each day!!!! Could waste precious riding time!0
