I'm having problems getting a route and training info from my Garmin 305 on to my computer. It has worked ok before, but now I'm gettng a message on my computer telling me it is having trouble communicating with the device. It says make sure device is switched on(which it is). The Garmin tells me the transfer is complete. But it doesn't arrive. Has anybody else had this? Can I sort it, or do I need to send it back?

Cheers :(

Sounds like a software fault rather than the unit itself. However, have you tried resetting the unit?

can you be a bit more specific...

I think you mean, when you do the sync, it tells you there has been a problem sending courses to your device?

if it is is that, ive had that problem, after deleting the courses off the device manually, it sycned fine:S

  • backup your training center data, the reinstall it. That might do it. The software is pretty lousy< I occasionally ger error messages when booting PC up, Garmin help desk gave a quick if unhelpful reply....

    Hi

I had exactly the same problem two days ago!

Telephoned the support line who advised uninstalling and then downloading the latest version of Training Center from the Garmin wbsite. Remember to export your data to the hard drive before uninstalling.

    Works perfectly since.

  • Funnily enough I had an error message 2 days ago too?!

It was during booting up of my machine, even before I connected my Garmin, and gave me an error message text to cut and paste to Garmin. Although I wasn't trying to connect my 305 at the time I sent them a mail as a precaution in case I had a problem when I did try to connect it and Garmin have given me some instructions of what to do

The error hasm't happened since, but as I didn't need to connect my 305 then, or since (not training enough!!) I haven't followed the instructions yet, but if I can't connect it I shall follow their instructions

Strange we've all seemed to have errors the same day??!!
