Hi All,
The organisers of my local road race series (sponsored by a real LBS no less (Chevin Cycles)) have just announced on their website that for this year the entry fee for Juniors and Juveniles is £4 and £2 respectively. That is pretty amazing when you think how much trialthlons and mass participation sportives and the like cost.

They have also announced that entry is now open for the race series. It starts in April is a very good starter series run on an handicap system so everyone gets a fair chance. Which makes it good for beginners as well. I had my first season racing in this series last year and thanks to the handicap system actually got a top 5 finish one week.

It is not really a commercial interest so I hope that peeps don't see this as advert-spam: I'm just after getting more youngsters down to the race series.

Iit seems that sportives and the like get loads of coverage but grassroots road racing like this is also worthy of a mention.

Cheers

HHIS

PS doh! Edited to say that it is the Yorkshire TLI Road Race series.
