Its done. 4425.5 miles over 4.5 months, what a trip!!!
I have had a blast
Punctures 2 ..... one in the trailer and one in the thermarest ( Schwalbe Marathon XR Nil )
New tyre on the trailer too.
2 chains ( one broke)
Highlights - the people; friendly, laid back and open.
and the best...... couchsurfing of course.
Its a big anticlimax arriving here as ....that's it!!
off to South East Asia for a cycling holiday from Bangkok to Phuket and Penang

Amazing George, well done. I am seriously envious.
Huge testament to the durability of the Schwalbes!0 -
Let us know when you land, and keep in touch George.

George is spot on about Australian people, they have made all the diffierence for me. I haven't used couchsurfing.com as much as George, but have used warmshowers.org quite a bit - I prefer the latter because you don't only get friendly aussies but ones that know about bikes and routes and places to cycle etc.
I arrived in Brisbane yesterday still only two fifths way around Oz Perth to Perth, but I can't wait for the rest..........Oct 2007 to Sep 2008 - anticlockwise lap of Australia... http://www.davidddinoz.blogspot.com/

I often pass through Shannon & stay there 2 - 3 times / year. If it's significant (& I know what I'm looking for) I can get the photo.

Hi
Thanks for the offer
In one of the huts there is a picture of a fat guy on a bike pulling a trailer on the back wall
The hut is called Plantation hut.
cheers

As you exit the plantation hut there is a wooden pillar supporting the beds on your left. On there is a clear "George Preston Oz 2007" together with a fainter "Hello from TT", with the bike/trailer image. I would appreciate a shot as well if poss.If I had a stalker, I would hug it and kiss it and call it George...or Dick
