And I don't mean taking them apart.

I'm giving my brakes a well earned overhaul this weekend - no stone left unturned.

I am removing the calipers from the frame and forks, cleaning all of the brackets, etc etc but not disconnecting the hoses as they don't need to be bled - but it will still give me more room to thoroughly get into the nooks and crannies.

I am fitting new gold sintered pads and removing the rotors from the wheels and going to give them a good old clean.

Whilst the pads are out I want to get into the nooks with a cotton bud to clean out any dirt and debris that is in there and clean around the piston heads

I was going to use a little degreaser for this... is this wrong? Or should I just use a little warm water and nothing else?

And I won't be spraying GT85 in there after.....:lol:

i use the finish line speed degreaser (the yellow one) just spray it all over the whole lot tbh

then just use the cotton bud to clean the spider part...

  • I think the conventional wisdom is to use whatever fluid your brakes use. Cleaned my juicys out with some cotton buds and DOT fluid. Seemed to work fine.
