I might just be going la-la, but I'm sure the freewheel ratchet on my wheels has got louder over the past two years. I used to be able to freewheel behind people without them realising I was doing no work, but now there is a tell-tale "whizz" when I freewheel. grrrr

Is this normal? Has anyone else had this happen to their wheels?

I guess the grease will wear away in the freehub body and eventually there won't be anything dampening the sound of the pawls down. I have some new Campag Eurus which I was expecting to be really loud. They're not at the moment but I think they will be once they've worn in a bit.

had the same problem with some DT Swiss hubs last year..... removing the hub cover and applying some grease did the trick.

it's your bike telling you to get back to the front and do your turn.
