I'm personally freaked out by it, I feel like I'm in a disaster movie and I'm the only one who's paying atention to the signals. Global warming is here!

It's February and people are playing football in the park with just t shirts and some cases no shirts at all! I'm sitting here with the windows open. People are swimming in the sea and others surfing. It's not right

speak for your own area - the last 2 mornings i've been wearing my winter kit and cycling in with icy roads. There has been a heavy frost on the ground as well each morning.

That would freak me too if I could see it from my window..................but then I'm 70 miles from the sea

News item on FiveLive today that they are predicting a severe heat wave for southern Britain by 2012 that would cause upto 3000 heat related deaths. Things are certainly warming up very fast................the dafs in my garden have been out for 2 weeks already.

    ...:

give it a few years- this global warming will cause sea level to rise and you'll soon have a waterfront property

alternatively, take your window with you next time you go to the seaside

It was sunny like this this time last year - I remember remarking to someone with a beard on the North-West Passage audax what lovely weather it was.
You just have to ride like you never have to breathe again.

Same around me, but as soon as the sun comes out it's boiling. I had to ditch the gloves, and unzip the gilet today, even though the grass at the side was still frosty.

  • It dosn't feel right somehow but enjoy it whilst you can. I will be finishing work early tomorrow and hope to get a few miles in before dark (if I'm feeling good this will probably extend to a few miles after dark as well )
    Two wheels good,four wheels bad
  • Went out in shorts and jersey today (2days in a row yay).

I think April was the warm month. We went for a walk with my brother round Melton Mowbray and there were huge cracks in the ground it was so dry - then look what happened

We had lousy weather for our month in France in May/June. We got some sunny days but we were often riding with longs and heavy jackets. I just hope we get a Summer this year.

  • Definitely weird weather.

Took the roadie out Saturday afternoon with summer top & shorts in the warm sun.

Took the MTB out Sunday morning with full armour on through ice and frost with temperatures feeling a bit negative.

Funny thing is I didn't prefer one over the other, I enjoyed both.
  • freezing fog in the mornings hot sun during the day - from what I can see from the barn - and then soggy fog on the way home.

Keeping in full winter kit until march then on with the 3/4's

  • Normal British weather folks!
It's been bloody freezing here the past few mornings, patchy fog, clears up to give a lovely sunny day, but as soon as the sun dips towards the horizon, it's cold all the way.
Foggy this morning, not a breath of wind, ideal weather for wind-power

08.30 this morning - water freezing in bottle! Damn chilly but at least the ground is "firm". These conditions and I feel safer away from traffic!

Did 35 mile trip across the North Downs this morning - first 10 miles in freezing fog which misted up my specs so much that I couldn't even see the fog properly.

Scared the willies out of me, I can tell you.

Off road ice had turned to thin layer of mud. Wheels weighed a lot more when I got home than when I left!
