Stiff Giga Pipe X bb

I've just bought a new Eldridge Grade (06 model) the bb is a Truvativ Giga X Pipe external bb system. It is stiff as hell, this surely can not be right. I have no experience of these systems, although comparing it to my old ISIS bb on my other Marin which spins all day long like buttery smooth, the new one is really bad. Is it adjustable, have they cranked it up too much in the factory?

might be faulty. might just be that it is a few years old?
take it back to the shop for looking at.

whip the cups out and see if the frame has been faced. Could be that they are just out of true, alternatively, they just need to break in a bit.0

cool, i think i'll do that, and then re-torque it correctly (just waiting for a 16 prong bb tool to arrive)
