Cycling shoe strap hurts foot

Bit of a lame thread, but I bought myself a pair of DTM ultramax which I finally rode with today.

These are the shoes:

The top plastic strap seems to dig in to the top of my feet, which wasn't a problem at first, but after only 20 miles it started to get pretty painful.

Anyone else had a similar problem? Should I wear thicker socks? :lol:

    Silly question - but how tight do you have them ?

    I had similar straps on my Sidis and never felt the need to tighten them too much. I think sometime you see the pros cinching the straps down for the final sprint, but non racers neednt bother. At least its easy to adjust whilst you ride ?
  • It seemed like if I didn't have them tightened fully they felt loose, but I might experiment tomorrow.
