I feel like a kid at christmas as I bought a new bike today. Specialized Allez sport silver. A snip at £699.99 ! Shame I can`t collect until saturday ! I know it`s not the most expensive bike in the world, but I did do the right thing didn`t I ?
Has anyone else bought a new bike lately ?
And on the 7th day...............

You'll have to get some pictures up when you get it. Hopefully the weekend weather will be good for you.

I recently built/bought a new bike, I won't go into too much detail, there's multiple pages in two threads on it.

Three since Xmas - but none NEW! I did buy a new one once - lost c. £800 when I sold it after less than a year (I arely keep any bike longer than a few months - I bore easily!). Sorry, always cheaper to let someone else take the 40% depreciation hit as they wheel it proudly from the shop!

I've just assembled a new bike on a Kinesis Tk frame and it's sitting in the garage because I'm not going to ride it for the first time on salty roads even though the weather's glorious again today. (I'm going to fly model planes instead :))

I went out yesterday and ended up partly walking down a 20% hill because it was icy in the shade. A broken leg this early in the year isn't on my game plan. It was a very enjoyable ride just the same and I washed the old bike down when I got home.

I haven't bought a ready rolled bike for many years and most of mine are hand built frames by either Mercian or Derek Wilkins. Haven't sold many, either; they just accumulate.

My new Lemod Filmore fixed is waiting for me to pick it up at my LBS, can't wait!

Only problem is I haven't worked out where I'm going to keep it yet, the stables getting quite full!! :D

I'd love to buy another bike, but I've got 5 and Mrs McBain is starting to complain. I'll have to use the "new frame" gag (making sure I never dispose of the old one) I think. Perhaps a nice 853 Rourke to use as a winter bike.

What do I ride? Now that's an Enigma!
