ive been needing to buy a tool kit, because im forever borrowing from friends and family. any body know a good tool kit for £260 - £300?

Just remember that the ParkTools kits tend to cover all manner of bikes as they're workshop kits.
You may be better off purchasing individual tools, specific to you choice of bike(s). You don't need nine different BB tools or seven freewheel tools or three cassette lockring tools, and you've probably already have an assortment of hex-keys and spanners.0
