Hi

I have just purchased a 2nd hand pair of CX-7 pedals. I have been unable to find any information on how to adjust these pedals. I was hoping that someone would have an electronic copy of the owners' manual?

Thanks
Evan

  • Hours can be lost if yours are anything like mine...they should come with different angled platforms, but honestly I'd be careful about going down that road unless you know what you are doing and have lots of time (a strong clamp was also essential for me)

Yeah I am too scared to mess with them. I have asked Look if I can order a manual, no response yet.
  • Hey,
I bought a pair of these in 2000 and still have them. I take it you bought them in order to help with a potential knee problem?
I am a supinator (think thats how you spell it) when I run, I land on the outside of my foot and have a high instep. I am hen toed/bandy legged.
Anyway prior to buying these i was training anywhere between 25 and 40 hours a week on the road and developed a pain in my left knee. I was a aware of my pedaling mechanics problem and bought these pedals. Due to my bandy legged ness! I needed to elevate the outside of my shoe or pedal. The CX7s allow you to do this. I put on the +1.5 degree plates and my knee problem was instantly solved.

I assume who ever sold you the pedals gave you all the spare plates or mounts. You should have 2x zero degrees 2 x -1.5/ 2x -3 and 2x +1.5 and 2x +3 degrees. Hope this makes sense.
If you are flat footed use the negative mounts and if you are like me use the + mounts.
You should have two little bolts that screw into the mounts and allow you to force them open in order to remove the spindal from the mount so you can put on the mount of your choice.
Be careful with the negative and positive 3s you would have very bad pedaling mechanics in order to require them.

The removal of the mounts is just a simple case of using an allen key, but as a I mentioned getting the mount off the spindal will require the two leaver bolts.

Hope this makes sense have had a wine or two. LOL

Thanks Tymbouk that is very helpful info. I am a pronator and long time knee pain sufferer. I only got the zero degree paltes, but the guy is now sending me the others. Looks like I will start out with the -1.5s and see how that goes.

    Thanks again.
